Cough Cough

Aisling got her first real cold this weekend. On Sunday night she had a fever of 102 and we had to give her some chilly baths and a little Tylenol to get her fever down. We took her to the Dr. the next day and they said it was just the common cold. So we have been giving her lots of extra cuddles and love. I stayed home yesterday and she seems like she is getting better. She had lots of energy last night so I think she will be 100 percent in a day or two. It is so sad to see her so miserable.

Gobble Gobble

We had a great Thanksgiving. We started our day at Aunt Joan's where we had a yummy turkey meal with all the trimmings, including the chocolate turkey from See's that almost didn't make it this year. Luckily Becca found them and saved the holiday. He He He.....

Aisling enjoyed her meal of squash and sweet potato melt-aways and then I taught her the joy of canned whipped cream. After lunch we headed to Aunt Lea's to visit with her and Uncle Chris who is recovering from a nasty fall down the stairs. He severed the tendons in both his knees and is in bed for a while. Aisling tried to cheer him up. She was a little shy and tired too, but we had a nice visit.

Then it was off to Aunt Angie's for more Turkey fun. We got another delicious meal and a wonderful visit with the family. Aisling had fun at the kids table and was dancing to Sean's beatbox rendition of club music. Aisling was the star of the day and there are nearly 2 million pictures to prove it.

After dinner we headed to Grammy's to spend the night and avoid a trafficy drive home. Aisling was so hyper by the time we got there. She was playing and playing and it was really hard to settle her down. She finally settled down and hogged the bed all night long.

In the morning we had a Carly dog break through. Carly and Aisling officially came face to face. Carly has always been scared of Aisling, but she gave her a good sniff and they are sort of friends now. Aisling laughed and squealed every time she saw Carly after that. Carly is still a bit tentative, but I am sure they will be friends in no time.

We have also moved on to stage 2 of the no-cry-sleep -solution. We are keeping our fingers crossed that one day she will sleep through the night. Brian and I are so tired.

Tea for 2 1/2

Aisling and I took my Mom out for tea at the Huntington this weekend. It was a very belated Mother's day present. We made a deal to go when she was feeling better and happily she is now. Aisling was all dressed up in a pretty dress and matching hat. She did really well at tea. She ate some bananas and sipped from her sippy cup. She also had fun throwing everything on the floor, but she was happy as can be for our visit.

After tea we walked around the gardens, we visited the new conservatory that Ais just loved. Then she had a nap and after nap we played in the grass. She kept trying to eat it so we didn't stay on the ground too long. Her feet were all dirty too. It was so cute. We had such a nice day, I am so happy we got to share this time with Grandma B.

On Sunday we went to family yoga. We met Ingrid and Fintan there and the babies got to play together. It was the first time they actually interacted with each other. It was so cute to see them playing together or at least near each other. They are growing up so fast.

We are still waiting for her to crawl. She is just starting to move her hands forward, but is still face planting. She is really getting good at standing while holding onto things or leaning against Mom or Dad. She likes to shriek like a Nazgul and clicks her tongue all the time. Her noises are so funny. She also likes to dance to music, particularly her little piano. She flaps her arms anytime she hears music. She also is really into zippers, tags and ribbons. She likes to eat the ribbon hair on Sir Turtle. She is teething horribly right now and has been sleeping equally as bad. She is up every 1-2 hours for the last week and we are exhausted. I hope her new toofy's pop out quick. The poor thing seems miserable.

Dr Visit

We took Ais to the Doctor yesterday. She is doing great. She is a healthy 20 pounds 3 ounces. They measured her wrong yesterday, she was pretty squirmy so I measured her myself this morning and she is around 27 1/2 inches tall. So she is growing, growing, growing...... She is doing all the stuff she should be doing and it was a good visit, except for the shots, which we won't talk about. Poor baby, and Mommy and Daddy too. She took them in stride, she was a little fevery, but handled it like a champ.

Disneyland Weekend

We had a ridiculously fun weekend. We spent the whole weekend at Disneyland with Tara and Scott and the 5 kids, Zach, Drew, Chloe, Ethan and little 5 month old Cailyn. We all stayed at the Disneyland hotel in adjoining rooms, Aisling's first time in a hotel by the way. It was so much fun.

We devoured the parks and went on tons of rides. We were really lucky and were given Dream Fast Passes for our whole group. We were in the right place at the right time and won them. The kids were so excited because they got a free fast pass for all the big rides. I even got to use mine to go on Tower of Terror and Space Mountain with the 3 big kids. I haven't been on any thrill rides since before I was pregnant. We also took the little ones on lots of rides even Pirates. Of course the boat broke down for a little while in pitch black. It was pretty stressful to be stuck in the dark with three babies in one boat. But we eventually got going and Aisling ended up nursing and then falling asleep on the ride.

She also saw her first parade which she loved. She was so excited the entire trip she would hardly eat or sleep. We had such a good time and we got to spend lots of quality time with the kids and our good friends.
