Xander is 1

I'm one. I'm one. I'm oneeeee!!!!!

Yep, it is official. Xander turned 1 on Sunday the 24th. We had a really nice Mickey Mouse party at Grammy's house on Sunday to celebrate the big milestone. He has made it through his first year. It is amazing to think that just one year ago he was an itty bitty newborn. Wow has the time flown and he has learned to do so many things. He is just the sweetest little guy ever too and just melts your heart. He is super cuddly and very happy and loves to climb and explore and generally get into everything. He is still taking a few steps here and there, but is better and quicker at crawling so he generally sticks to that. He can give kisses, hugs, high fives and is pointing at everything these days. He loves mirrors, lights, bubbles, balls, things he can climb in, on or through and throw of course. And when he finds something particularly interesting he makes the cutest little serious face complete with little sigh. He is still quite the Mommy's boy and it is really hard to pass him around or leave the room or go to the gym if he is not in the mood. Yesterday, he went a whole day without a bottle too, only milk in a sippy cup all day. He is dancing more and more now and does this little twist with his arms and upper body. He is just generally adorable most the time I guess. I feel so lucky to have this little guy as my son and after a year of getting to know him, I just love him more and more every day.

So here are some pictures from his big day. Of course, more on the photobucket site.

Xander gets to ride facing front ways in the car for the first time. He was really excited by it and didn't sleep at all on the way to Grammy's house. He just kept looking around and staring at me with this look like "Is this really happening?"

Xander enjoying a refreshment with his Uncle Allen. He is off the bottle and formula now. Who knew life could be so easy?

Here is a family picture pre cake.

"So what do I do with this thing?"

"Oh I eat it you say."

"I love cake!!! This stuff is awesome!"

Update

I have a gagillion things to share and no time to really get to it, so I think this will be more of a photo essay and in no particular order. More on the photobucket site too.

Baby Shawn, Daddy Shawn and Xander at mother's day. Xander just loves both the Shawn's and kept trying to hug baby Shawn.

Grammy and Aisling at Mother's day. Ais is wearing her new camera "smile". It is so funny the face she makes when you tell her to smile for the camera.

Xander and Ilyssa at Mother's day. They were so cute playing together. Ilyssa kept giving Xander toys. So cute.

Gavin and Ais playing with the ipod touch. Ais really likes Gavin and he is really sweet to her.

Bec and I try a baby swap for a few minutes. Our little guys are sure getting big quick.

Aisling at tea. She had hot chocolate that was more like lukewarm to cold chocolate. She called it medium chocolate and kind of licked it when she sipped it, but she just loved it.

Grandma and Ais at Mother's day tea. It was so nice and Aisling was a perfect angel.

Xander with a super messy face. He is a huge eater and loves most everything. He is getting another tooth on the bottom which makes it 8 teeth all together. Now he won't have is lopsided smile, which I though was so cute. He loves giving big sloppy baby kisses, high fives, and likes to feed you slightly used goldfish. Ewwwww.

Aisling is taking swim classes now. She is in the Pike class at the YMCA. She loves the class and her teacher Miss Natalie. She talks about it all week and likes to play swim class. It is her first drop off class and she is doing great and having fun.

Ais has been doing lots of gardening as well. She has been planting lots of seeds with Grandma.
