fun Fun Fun

It has been a busy and fun couple of weeks.

Becca and Aunt Joan took Aisling to her first baseball game. She was all dressed up in her Angel outfit. She was a little confused to see Aunt Joan in blue, but she forgave her for her indiscretion.

Last Wednesday we took Aisling to work for the Pirates 3 Lot event. It was really fun. She got to meet Pirate Minnie Mouse who she just loved. (There is a picture, but I have to scan it in) Also Doug taught her how to use a straw to drink an orange shake-like thing. She thought it was pretty cool.

On Sunday Grandma B, Ais and I went to tea. Aisling did so good and sat in her highchair for the whole thing. She ate a chocolate chip scone and had a little bit of berry soup from Grandma. It was so fun, she is becoming quite the little lady.

On Monday we took Ais to the zoo for the first time. She loved seeing all the animals and kept making monkey sounds and arms all day. She was fascinated by the elephant and couldn't take her eyes off of him. I am so happy she likes animals.

There are more pictures of the past few weeks on the photobucket site. I barely have time to keep up the blog these days so I apologize in advance.

Jakey visit / Mom's Day

Ais is walking pretty good now. She has managed to walk across the room a few times. I have a video clip, but can't figure out how to load it quite yet. She also likes to walk outside if I hold her hand. Back and forth we go up and down the path in front of our house. She also is now doing Monkey impersonations. She goes ee ee ee and pulls her arms up and flaps them a bit. It is so cute.

We had a nice visit from our friend Jake and his Mommy Kathy. Ais and Jake got to play for a while, Ais really liked Jake and kept trying to kiss him. (Sorry Fintan) It was so fun to visit with them. Jake has gotten so big and cute.

Here's Jake and Ais playing

Jake has some car trouble.

Better call AAA

We celebrated Mother's day with my family on Sunday. We started the day off by meeting Aunt Joan's dog Sam for the first time. Ais thought he was pretty funny when he sniffed at her.

Grandma made they day a bit interesting when she had one of her spells and had to be rushed to the hospital. It was pretty scary, but she is doing well. So aside from that big drama, the day was nice. Ais and Bec played and played and Aunt Lea indulged us with her amazing brunch. It was a nice visit, although it is still a little weird to think that the day is for me now too.

For those wondering about why my eyes look funky in this picture, I had Lasik on the Friday before Mother's day. Aside from looking a bit like something from "28 Days Later", they are healing great and I can see better than ever.

Buddies

Aisling has been the little social butterfly this last week.

We had a nice visit from Arianwen and her Mum of course. They came over last Saturday to celebrate Brian's birthday. Nathan came too, Aisling was a big ol' flirt with him. She was showing off crawling in circles around him and then acting shy when he talked to her. Brian is already looking into shotguns for her teen years. Aisling and Arianwen love playing together. Arianwen is a crawler now so they were all over the house. They also shared a banana as seen below.

Aisling also had her first swim of the season. She was a little nervous at first, but within about 15 minutes she was swimming along, kicking her legs like crazy. I am trying hard to find her a mommy and me swim class, but it has been a bust so far. You think it would be easy in Southern California, but it is really tough. She loves to swim, so we will just have to take lots of trips to Grammy and Grandpa T's house this summer.

She also had her first park play date with her boyfriend Mr. Fintan. He tried to show her how to play with the cars and go down the slide, but she was having nothing to do with it. She settled for playing in the sand with a shovel and bucket. She must have had ten pounds of sand in her shoes. (There are more pictures on the photobucket site.) It was so fun to see Finny and his Mom too. He is such a kid now, and super cute. How on earth do Ing and I have kids????? Crazy, but wonderful too!!!!

13 months old

Aisling turns 13 months old tomorrow(and Daddy's birthday is on Friday by the way). Aisling is just so much fun. She is a little fire cracker and has so much personality. We just adore every second with her.

It has been a while since we have done a list, so I think it's time. So here we go:

Aisling's favorite things:
1. Animals (especially dogs): She goes crazy when she sees a dog and laughs and squeals, but then cries when it goes away. She loves pictures of dogs, dogs on TV, dogs on walks, Everything about Dogs.
2. Outside: She loves being outdoors. We take lots of walks and she points at everything. She loves seeing flowers, birds, airplanes, cars and of course doggies.
3. Toys: She loves to play and play. She loves her balls, mega blocks, cars, and anything that makes noise. She loves shape sorting toys too, but gets mad instantly if she can't fit the shape in the first time.
4. Cinderella music box: She kicks her legs like crazy when it plays. She loves music in general though.
5. Hair brush: It is one of her favorite toys. She likes to brush Daddy and my hair too.
6. Building forts with Daddy.

Things she doesn't like:
1. Diaper changes
2. Getting dressed
3. Waiting for anything.
4. Long car rides
5. The word no.

Words she can say:
1. All done
2. Agua
3. outside
4. Dada, Mama
5. Hello
6. She also has distinct sounds that she uses for phone, dog, bird, yum, so big and Down by the bay (the last 2 are her favorite books).

Signs she knows:
1. Light
2. All done
3. More
4. Eat
5. Phone
6. Brush

Foods she likes to eat.
1. Watermelon
2. Mac and Cheese
3. Anything spicy: Chicken, green beans, broccoli, peas, she'll eat any of them if they are zesty.
4. bananas
5. Exotic food: Mexican, Asian, Indian. Here she is eating Palak Panneer. Spinach!!!! She is even letting me feed her with a spoon. She only lets me do that with the good stuff.

Other Accomplishments:
1. Stands up on her own and takes a few steps before falling, but she still prefers to crawl.
2. Sleeps most nights all the way through. Although every so often she still wakes up once or twice.
3. Claps and says yay when the Ducks score. (Well really anytime the crowd cheers during a hockey game, I just added the Ducks part, it is Brian's birthday after all)
4. Knows what lots of words mean and will go to the ball, sippy cup or toy that you ask her to find.
5. Can point to Mommy or Daddy's nose or mouth when asked.
6. Can be the life of the party, as seen here with Arianwen and Vuk.
