Return to reality

I am back at work after having a fun weekend with the folks and my brother. The cruise was really fun. We had lots of quality time together. Brian climbed the rock wall and I pretty much sat and napped a majority of the time. I had a few rough patches, mostly due to the fact that eating is a chore now and that is pretty much all there is to do on a cruise when you can't drink or even try the rock wall.

We got in early yesterday morning and we signed everyone in to Disneyland. I had my first sad experience of having to wait outside the roller coaster while everyone went on space mountain. Ah well, it's worth it and I will get to ride again in the future. I did enjoy the minor thrill sequence on Pirates of the Caribbean. Those waterfalls are pretty exhilarating when it's all your going to get.

Brian and I headed home around noon and I fell into bed for a quick nap at 1:30. Yes, it was a quick nap that lasted till 5:00pm. I woke up pretty nauseas and still haven't fully recovered. I actually had a pretty rough morning of yacking and trying to get up the energy to get to work. Let's hope that magical 3 month marker really works and I feel better in a few weeks.

Look Ma... No Tail

Week 9

Tomorrow we hit week 9. We are only 5 weeks away from the 2nd trimester when the energy is supposed to return and I should get back my appetite. I can't wait.

Lil' Bean is now the size of a grape and no longer has his tail which I find a charming development. He is moving around, even though I still can't feel it. He has elbows and fingers although still webbed and his boy or girl parts just came in (although we still won't know if it is a he/she for many more weeks). He is actually looking human and is officially a fetus now. Way to go Bean!!!!

Another week down

Phew.. This week was a busy one. Last Saturday, Brian and I videotaped our first wedding. It turned out to be a 12 hour ordeal, most of which spent on our feet. We were both pretty exhausted. I did pretty well with the morning sickness. I carried around a bag with me the whole day that had a stash of food, consisting of Nilla wafers, crackers, peppermints and a BRC burritto from El Pollo Loco which I gnawed on throughout the day. It may not sound all that good, but it kept me going. I only got sick during the special dances. In my defense, the money dance itself was 3 songs long. Thank goodness Brian was there to pick up my slack. We still ended up with 11 hours of good footage. I also haven't been as sore as I was Monday and Tuesday since I kicked boxed or after a hockey tournament. I have been editing every night too, well as much as I can do before my sleepy head ricochets off the desk.

This weekend is my Parent's 40th wedding anniversary and we are off to Ensenada for the weekend on a little cruise. Mike is flying down from Oregon and it should be a fun trip. We have been urged by Chris and Terry not to get off the boat, but we'll have to see about that. To be honest, adding Montezuma's revenge to my list of stomach troubles is about the last thing I want to do. :)

Say Cheese.....

Lil' Bean had his first picture and visit to the doctor today. Everything checked out great. His little heart is beating away. Brian came along to the appointment and caught the first glimpse of our baby. You can see him in the picture up above. He is between the two cross hairs, he is so itty bitty. I can't wait to watch him grow over the next 7 months. They also adjusted the due date to be March 19th.

Lil' Bean's first BBQ

Our little one had his first BBQ today at Grandma K's. And although he didn't have a very good view from inside my tummy, I am sure he got a good sample of Grandma K's cooking and Nana's famous chocolate cake. It was fun to see the family in person for the first time after the big announcement. And true to form we came home with a trunk full of great baby gear. This is going to be one spoiled baby. :)

We have our first prenatal visit on Tuesday so hopefully we have some pictures soon, that is if they do an ultra sound. For all those keeping track, he/she is about the size of a raspberry. His fingers start forming this week and he can now open his mouth. Good practice for future BBQ's.

The best diet ever.

Well, for about the first time in my life, I have managed to stay within my weight watchers point range without a struggle. Eating has become a chore. Even bread and sweets are not appealing to me. I went to lunch with a girlfriend today who is pregnant as well and due in January. We both struggled to eat what we could, but at least we got to commiserate for a while. Of course, when we get back to work, someone was having fish, blah what a stench. It was all we could do to keep our Baja tacos from resurfacing. Graphic I know, but so is morning sickness. I don't know how I am going to make it through several months of this? I have a new respect for all the mother's of the world, especially those who never complain, not going to happen here by the way.
