We have been going through a lot of transitions here on the home front and boy has it been a bit rough as of late. Xander has decided not to nurse anymore. He went on a full blown nursing strike over the weekend and just flat out refused to nurse. So after about 2 days of no nursing I gave in and gave him a bottle just to get something in him and he has been eating like a champ. I think all his latest developments like crawling and sitting up have made him too interested in the world to lay down and eat. So with the bottle he can still sit up and look around while he gets his drink on. It wasn't quite what I had planned and I was a bit bummed, especially because I now have to add pumping, cleaning and shlepping around bottles and supplies to my daily regiment, but oh well what can you do. And I guess on the positive side I can spread around the feeding duty to Daddy and so forth.
Along with the nursing strike has come some bad nights. He was waking up 4 times a night to nurse before the strike went full blown and now we are still struggling to get him back on some semblance of a schedule. So we have been up at 4:30 am for 3 nights in a row.
And poor Aisling is having a hard time dealing with a very mobile little brother who wants to touch everything. If he so much as looks at one of her treasures she starts screaming or whining. I can't tell you how many times she has told me to "pick up Xander Bander Bear Mommy."
And last but not least has come a pretty clinging streak. This all about the time I am trying to get to the gym and use the baby sitting facility. I took the kids yesterday for the first time and while Aisling walked right in and started playing without even saying goodbye to dear old Mom, Xander cried for 10 straight minutes after I left at which point one of the girls came to get me, just as I hit about the 6 minute mark on the eliptical. Poor little guy. He has been pretty reluctant to sit in the stroller too. Must be time for a growth spurt I am guessing.
On the positive not so challenging side of life. Aisling has taken to drinking from a real bona fide cup and loves it. She is also really good about not going tinkle in her undies. The #2 action is still pretty much hit or miss, with more on the miss side. We also went to Disneyland on Sunday with Aunt Joan and Aisling was a regular kid. All she really wanted to do was meet Tinkerbell and the princesses. She waited forever in line to do both and was just beside herself with excitement when she got to meet them. She danced with each one of them and was just as sweet as can be. She also got her face painted, thank you Aunt Joan. She was so good, I was shocked. I didn't think she would do it, but she did. She sat perfectly still and was really happy when the girl said "look up princess". She still talks about the day. It was really fun and special.
So here are some pics from our trip.

Aunt Joan treats Aisling to her first face painting. I still am amazed Aisling sat so still for the whole thing.

Here is the final result. Oh how she loved her flower.

Ais met Tinkerbell for the first time. She was the first stop on our Princess tour, even though technically she is a fairy. Ais was so excited.

Before.........

After.......

Hugs with Jasmine.

Dancing with Belle. She also taught her how to curtsy. So cute.

Aisling- "Where are more princesses?". Xander- "Where is Darth Vader?"
