1 year checkup
Xander had his 1 year old checkup last week. He is doing good and right on track. He weighs 22 pounds 11 ounces and is 30 5/8 inches tall. Poor little guy had to have blood drawn since his iron levels looked low. The little guy had a rough time with it and it was hard for me to see him so upset. Ouch!!! Now we are trying to get more iron in his diet. Thank goodness for kix cereal and my sneaky chef recipe book. Xander is still into everything, now we can add climbing onto the couch, with minor assistance, climbing onto the sit and stand stroller, climbing the entire flight of stairs in a blink of an eye and trying to escape out Sam's dog door at Grandma and Aunt Joan's house. He is sitting in a booster chair at the table now, no more high chair. He is waving hi and bye as well as saying both. He likes to point at everything and is very curious.
Aisling has been good too. She has officially entered the why stage and is asking sooooo many questions. It is kind of cute, but also can get to be a bit much. She is doing well with her little brother sleeping in her room too. It seems they both like being in there together. He is doing great and she still comes into our room most nights, but overall Brian and I have a little more space now that they are in the same room.
Uncle Mike and my Mom were over for a few days before my father's memorial service on Sunday. It was nice to have them around even though it was not under the happiest of circumstances. The kids were really happy to have lots of attention from them both and I was very grateful for all the help. It's been kind of lonely around here this week now that they both went to Ohio for the month. We have been sick again too with pretty bad coughs and have been home-bound this week and are going a wee bit stir crazy. Hopefully, we will all be healthy again soon so we can get back out into the world of swim lessons and parks.
Here are some pics from the previous weeks.
