So yes it has been a long long long time since I last wrote on here, and I have been meaning to update this darn blog for about five months, but you know how things go with two small kids. Lately just getting the basic chores done is a monumental task let alone things that aren't as high on the priority scale. But here we are and here we go. Not sure if I will get pics up this round, but hopefully soon.
Anyway, since January lots of things have transpired. First and for most we had 2 birthday parties. Ais is now 4 and Xander is now 2, we had a fun party at the park complete with a bounce house and yo gabba gabba cake. Lots of friends and family were there to help us celebrate. Ais even had some school friends show up for the first time. She has a little group of girls she plays with at preschool, Natalya, Makayla and Alicia are her best buds and it is so cute to see them all play together.
What else, Easter, Ais was really sick, so we missed that. Aisling's first dance recital, She was a flower girl, we went to LegoLand, lots of Disneyland, a trip to Yosemite. Aisling tried her first overnight sleep over at Grammys. She didn't quite make it through the night, but had a fun time spending the day with Grammy on her own. This summer has been busy, Aisling has been in Summer camp on and off at the YMCA. She loves it and gets to go swimming, make projects and play in the gym. Xander has been a little fishy this summer. He started his first swim class with Daddy and loves to swim in our complex's pool. He is fearless of the water and really adventurous in it. He loves to jump off the edge into the pool. We just got back from a weekend of camping at Lake Casitas. It was Xander's first trip and he loved it mostly, but it was a bit overwhelming for the little guy at times, especially cause he got stung by a Yellow Jacket within minutes of getting there and there were tons of those darn things. Ais loved it though, they had a swim park with a huge play structure and lazy river. Ais would have stayed there all day if she could have. Next up for us, school starts back up for Aisling on the 1st of Septemeber. She has a new teacher Mrs. Taylor and will be going 3 days a week this year.
Here are some tidbits about each of the kids.
Aisling, is 4 years old and funny and as creative as can be. She loves Aladdin and watches it over and over and over. She just loves Jasmine. She sings a duet of "A Whole New world" with Daddy every night. It is adorable, especially when she sings "a necklace diamond sky", instead of "and endless diamond sky". She just got glasses about 1 month ago and is doing great with them overall. She has to patch her right eye for a few hours a day, just like I did when I was a kid. Overall she is doing well with that adjustment. She is really into spelling right now, and wants to know how to spell everything. She is also finding words out in the world. She will just out of no where see the word yes or hat and read it. So cool. Her writing is great too and she knows her telephone number. Crazy how smart she has gotten. She is really creative too and makes up all sorts of games and stories on her own. She loves dress up (and thus Xander does too, right now she is dresssed like Jasmine and he is dressed like Snow White). She is doing better walking on her heels, but we still have to remind her occasionally. She has little braces for her ankles and they seem to help. She has become quite a little monkey at the park and loves to climb and go down squiggly slides.
Xander, is now 2 and is such a sweet little guy. He is really tall and is literally off the chart for his height. He is in the throws of the terrible twos and can be quite a handful sometimes, but then he will just look at you and smile with those huge dimples. He loves his big sister and is a total copy cat. He is really into Star Wars and Toy Story right now and loves Buzz Lightyear. He is talking lots and lots and has the cutest way of saying things. Some of my favorites are, B = Buzz, WeeWee = Woody, Shoo = Star Wars (He calls them Shooters), Slyyy = sippy, Hiii = hot, he basically only speaks in first syllables. I am pretty fluent in Xander speak, even when he says a whole sentence, like Daaa ohh cah = Daddy's orange car. So cute. He likes to play Star Wars and is always ready challenge you to a light saber duel with his index finger. He still likes, trains, cars and of course bubbles. His favorite book is still Good Night Moon. He also really loves Small World at Disneyland and can sing the song. It is his favorite and will listen to it over and over.
Anyway, I am going to try and post some pics and hopefully get better at keeping this thing updated. I just have such little time and the picture loading on here is really slow and painful. So you know don't hold your breath. :)
