10 months old

Xander turned 10 months old last Tuesday. We also had his 9 month Dr. appointment (albeit on his 10 month birthday) and he is 21 1/2 pounds and 30 1/4 inches tall. The Dr. says he is dong great and a real "smarty pants" as she put it. She was really impressed with him being able to say a few words already, I guess it is pretty early. He is still a Cheerio monster and is no longer happy to have one in his mouth, he prefers to grab a huge handful and shove them into his mouth as quick as possible. He has been eating lots of big people food and loves cheese and pasta and just tried guacamole yesterday and liked it, that's my boy!!! He is really into drinking from straws. I am trying to teach him to like milk in a straw sippy, but he still isn't sure about that one. He is cruising really well now and is getting better and better at standing all the time. He is still into everything and is really quick at getting into mischief.

Aisling learned a new trick too. She did her first somersault all on her own last week. She is doing great too and had a big weekend. We went to Disneyland and stayed in the hotel for a couple of nights to celebrate her birthday. She met a ton of princesses and wore her very first Cinderella dress (Thanks Grammy and Grandpa) at the park. She met Jasmine and sang the entire Whole New World song to her. It was so sweet. We took her to the Princess breakfast which she loved. She also spent one of the nights in Grammy's room, it was kind of her first sleep over. It was a great weekend and there will be more on that once we download the pics. Right now Ais has the flu too, I am really hoping she feels better by her birthday on Friday. Poor thing.

We're still here

It's been a while since I checked in and the kids have been up to all sorts of things.

Aisling has learned to turn on and off and on and off and on and off (see a trend) the lights by herself. She was so excited and loves to pretend it's nighttime and the moon is out. Although, I have to insist she keeps the light on during the day or I get too sleepy. She is in a total Aladdin frenzy and is singing the songs and reenacting scenes from the movie all day long. We took her to see the Aladdin show at DCA and she really liked it, although she did prefer the Playhouse Disney show a bit better, well it did have big jet and all her favorite characters from her shows.

Xander is also learning more things every day. He can say two words now, and they are actually regarding what he is saying, He can say light (da lye) and all done (ahhh daaaa). He says them while using the signs for the objects/action. I was pretty amazed and we were all really excited. He also is drinking from a straw now. He was getting into the habit of stealing Ais' straw sippy cups, so I just gave him his own and he loves to drink water out of it. He is really into big people food too and eats a ton when he likes something. I made Ais grilled cheese and he ate a huge chunk of it and was laughing and smacking his lips between bites. He also really likes peanut butter on bread and mac and cheese and of course his holy grail... Cheerios. He is definitely a breadaholic and tends to go more for that stuff then the fruits and veggies I try and get him to eat, but we are still working on it. Poor little guy is sick again and has had a pretty high fever this afternoon. I just hope it isn't the start of a new round of illness in this house....

Anyway here are some pics from the previous weeks.

We had a get together to celebrate Nana's birthday. Ais had a good time helping Nana read her cards and blow out the candles.

Uncle Jack was a hit with the baby boys. They were all over him and loving it.

Uncle Mike came for a visit and the kids had a great time with him. Both of them joined in on the fun and rough housing. They both had a great time climbing all over him and being tossed around and going on magic carpet rides. (Hopefully, I can get the video of that up soon).

The girls (and Sam) at an outing at the park.

Daddy and his wee ones.

Here we are with our new car. Yes we are fully embracing parenthood and have bought a mini van. (Thanks to Uncle Alex, who drove with Brian to Fresno to pick it up). We love it too. It is so nice, big, comfy and has so many nice Mommy features.

Last but not least. Xander had his first haircut, which he really didn't like one bit. He cried from the second the hairdresser sprayed his hair with water till the end. He looks so adorable though and not such a shagamuffin now.
