11 months

Can you believe Aisling is 11 months old? We sure can't. Time is just flying by and our little Miss is almost a year old. Yikes.

She has really been talking a lot lately. She loves to do blast off and loves repeating mama and dada. She just got two more teeth on the bottom which makes a grand total of 8. Thank goodness we aren't breastfeeding anymore. She points at everything these days and signs light any time she sees something that looks remotely like one.

She likes to hide under her high chair and crawl under the table.

She is also getting really good at climbing the stairs.

She also climbs up on her block thing, a few minutes before this picture she was up there in nothing but her birthday suit. Diaper changes are near impossible these days as is getting her dressed. You can hardly keep her still for more than a few seconds. She is still not walking, but I can see the wheels turning when she wants to reach something that is a few steps away. She can stand on her own for a few seconds at a time, but I think she realizes that she can get where she wants really quickly by crawling.

She is eating so much better these days too. Her current favorites are avocado, banana, beans, mashed potatoes, shredded cheese, yogurt and most of all cheese crackers. She is eating good sized chunks these days too and she'll be ready to take a good bite of birthday cake.

To celebrate her 11 month old birthday we took her to, big surprise, Disneyland.

We went with our friend Doug from work. He is a big Disney fan and Aisling just loves him.

She met Pluto for the first time, which made me so excited, because I just love Pluto. Ais is obsessed with Dogs too and I thought she would like to meet him. Any time she sees a picture of a dog she gets so excited. She squeals with delight and kisses the picture if she can. We took her into the animation building at DCA and she went crazy for the Lady and the Tramp segment in the main room. It was so funny. She also likes crows, but that isn't as cute, so I focus on the dog thing.

At Disneyland Ais had another first. While waiting for the tiki room, which she loved by the way, we each had a Dole whip and Ais used her very own spoon to feed herself. Both Daddy and Ais were sticky messes after, but it was so cute. She loved it and was so proud to be eating like a big girl.

We had a fun day although she was really tired. She has decided that naps are no longer good. It is a struggle to put this child to sleep. She won't sleep in the car, stroller and sometimes her crib now. She is only taking one nap a day and that is usually only if we are home. If we are out, forget it, there is too much to see. At least she is sleeping better at night for the most part. She usually wakes up at least once at night, but it is better than what she used to do, so we'll take it.

It's Normal

That's what they said to me when we brought in Aisling to the ER on Saturday night when she started throwing up blood. Turns out it isn't totally unusual for babies to throw up a little blood, wish someone had let me in on that info before I had a heart attack when my cherub started doing this on Saturday night. We were at the ER from 11pm till 4 am when they let us go after watching her for a bit. Turns out she just had a really bad flu. It really knocked her out for the weekend. She slept the entire day on Monday and was pretty miserable for a few days. She is better now though and is back to her old self.

We also had a Dr visit on Thursday. She is doing wonderfully and weighs in at 23 pounds 4 ounces and is 29 inches tall. She is healthy and happy and doing great. She had some shots and played with some toys and then licked the mirror which is probably where she got the flu from.

We have been so busy lately so I apologize for not updating the blog for a while. I have heard the fans starting to rumble so I figured I better make some time for an update. Work has been really busy for Brian and I. Also, the wedding business has had a surge of activity lately as well. That shared with sick baby time has really overloaded us.

So here is what we have been up to in the last few weeks.

We went to Disneyland with the Wilhelmi's. The girls both had a great time playing with Aisling's shoes. Oh yeah, they also had fun on the rides and walking around the park. Both girls did great. Ais decided not to nap during the day, well until the waterfall on Pirates. She was not a happy camper and was really freaked out. On the way home she cried anytime we hit a bump in the road.

Aisling went to work for a party for Daddy's Tiki project. She wore her little Hawaiian dress to show her support. She had a good time with Daddy.

She also had a play date with her boyfriend Fintan. They actually played together for a little while, well more like next to each other.

She didn't like his train or swing and cried when she was put in both. So much for my dreams of riding roller coasters with her, at least for a while. Fintan is walking really good and is just as cute as can be. The kids played with bubbles and crawled/walked around Fintan's new house. They are so cute together.

Ais celebrated her first Valentine's day and opened a pile of cards. She would study each envelope before she would shred it to bits. Then she would carry the card around the house. She had so much fun with it.

We also went to Disneyland this last weekend with Becca. Ais decided not to sleep in the car again and was a bit tired, plus she was getting sick too. She screamed both directions on the tram. I am not sure if it was because she was tired, sick or still traumatized from the Pirates incident a few weeks ago. Either way she was just not happy. It was packed at the park, but we still had a great time hanging with Becca.

Ais is getting close to walking, but still hasn't quite figured it out. She has started pointing at things that excite her though. It is so cute she looks like a little ET half the time. She is starting to talk more too. She says Mama and Dada in relation to us some times. She can also say Blast off, or a variation of it which sounds more like baaaa ahhhh. It is a little game we play with her. She is learning so many things so quickly. It just amazes me every day.

10 months

Aisling is walking.......

Just Kidding.... This is actually a picture of Ingrid's little friend Astrid. I just thought she looked so much like Aisling, I had to post it. It is kind of like a fast forward though to see what little miss Ais will look like toddling around.

Aisling is 10 months old tomorrow for real. Whew.... Where is the time going.

Here are a few things that Aisling likes:
1. Songs: Particularly Little Bunny Foo Foo at the moment. I sang it for 30 minutes straight the other night. She loves all music and dances and tries to clap along and sometimes she even tries to sing along.
2. Toys: She is really into playing with her toys now. She loves them all and is getting good at pushing all the right buttons and putting balls in the holes and so forth. She also starts games too. She likes to hand me her ducky or lid to her cookie jar and then I place it on my head and she takes it off. Then we put it on her head and she just loves it. She also likes peek-a-boo, especially with Daddy. She still likes zippers too and strings to jacket or sweater hoods. She wants to chew on any she finds.
3. Standing and climbing stairs: She loves pulling up on anything she can. Chairs, walls, people it is all good. She is cruising really well too. She can stand for a brief second or two sometimes. She also loves to climb the stairs and play on the tile in our entryway. She gets so excited when she is up there.
4. Being a human vacuum cleaner: She loves picking up the tiniest speck on the floor. The other day she picked up something that was the size of a grain of sand. Little Miss Elven eyes.
5. Grown up Food: She is obsessed with whatever it is I am eating and will no longer let me eat unless she has a bite. Of course, she has a horrible gag reflex and chokes on everything, so I have to mash it up and give her the littlest bite imaginable. Last night she ate some of my samosa wrap and the night before it was refried beans. Never thought my 10 month old would like Indian Food, but she does. She has been better eating in general lately. She still isn't into baby food too much, but will eat a little here and there. She really like yogurt and oatmeal at the moment. She also likes little chunks of avocado which she doesn't choke on. She loves to feed herself too.
6. Saturday morning TV: We try not to let her watch too much, but she just loves Sesame Street (Elmo), Little Einsteins and Johnny and the Sprites.

Here are some things she doesn't like:
1. Diaper changes and clothing changes: It is so hard to get her changed these days. She especially hates the arms being messed with.
2. Grooming: She hates it when I comb her hair after bath time (my Barbies never cried) and forget going near her nose for that elusive boogie.
3. Car seats in the dark: She really gets pretty upset when she has to ride in the dark. She gets so angry and just shakes her little arms and cries. It is so sad. I bought her one of those lite up spinny things from Disneyland last week and that seems to help. 2 more months and we can turn the car seat around.

She is such an amazing baby. She is so happy go lucky and silly. I just love her to pieces. She is learning so much so fast. The other day at Disneyland she said Yay when Brian was pushing her stroller and she is giving kisses all the time and is just a wonder and joy to us. I can't wait to see what she does next.

Things have been so busy lately. Today I even had to leave for work before Aisling woke up. It broke my heart not to see her little face and smile in the morning. I am so happy when Fridays roll around. There is nothing better than spending time with my little family.
